Soul and Art Gallery is located in the historical quarter of ancient Safed, a distinctive city in the Northern Galilee. Presently this quarter hosts the prestigious Artists' Colony and is a center for Kaballah and creativity.
The main stone structure of the gallery is more than 200 years old. Although it is nowadays a complex of six exhibition halls, the structure was originally used as a central market place.
Soul and Art Gallery was established in 1969 by Avraham Sade, of blessed memory, founder of the Artists' Colony.
After his retirement from loyal service in the police force, Avraham Sade fulfilled his dream by personally building the start of the present Gallery. Over the years his vision was expanded and the Gallery became a focal position and central place for tourists and art collectors alike.
In gratitude for Avraham's Sade's deeds and contributions, the city of Safed commemorated his efforts by naming the Artists' Colony by his name, perpetuating his memory and vision.
In 2006 the Gallery's structure was renovated and renewed with an additional wing also adding an on premise kosher Mediterranean restaurant.
Soul Art gallery continues to remain a friendly and central route for visitors and an inspiration source for many artists.
